Your Discovery Day should be a Wow! experience
Uh-oh, don’t tell me you are without a Discovery Day as part of your franchise development process. If so, you are missing a fundamental and immensely important opportunity to award franchises to individuals you know will embrace your culture and be successful as owners in your system.
Let me first address what a Discovery Day is. For a franchisor, it’s your opportunity to present your brand story in the best possible environment. For a franchise development manager, it’s your chance to close the sale or at least accelerate the speed of your candidate(s) through the due diligence process. For a candidate, if you are serious about franchising and are about to ink a big check, you must see and touch the people you are going to be living with (Franchising is after all like a marriage.) and relying on until you exit the business.
Even if you have scheduled Discovery Days and your results haven’t met expectations, I’m going to share ways to improve your candidates’ experience, increase your close rate and expand your franchise with right-fit owners.
